Ok, what we are being sold here is a "tape drive replacement". That explains the price. I think we need to take a step back and consider what it actually is ... an external harddrive with removeable drives. I like the idea of removeable drives because its a small step for people who traditionally managed tape. I am left wondering why there is no network attached option on this. Having this attached to the network means it can be placed away from other equipment and operate independantly. This is a must IMO. There are several entry level, single disk NAS options available. These are small, light and have large storage capacity. There is the issue of not being ruggedized which is why I'm here. You could simply use several of these in a rotation to acheive a far greater result. Am I wrong ?
